Park Camping***
Park Camping is probably the nicest and most attractive camp site on Lake Balaton. And that's saying a lot in this idyllic part of Hungary on the largest lake in West and Central Europe! It is a really natural camp site, park-like grounds hidden among greenery and right on Lake Balaton. There is a small natural harbour for boats. The banks slope so gently that the water 200 metres from the shore is less than a metre deep. Ideal therefore for families with small children and those who can't swim very well. There is almost too much to see in this area.

Vonyarcvashegy is a small picturesque town just 10 minutes from medieval Keszthely, the 'capital' of Lake Balaton. This lovely town with its baroque palaces, small alleyways and lovely parks is definitely worth a day out. There are fine paths for walking, cycling or skating right around the lake. There is the 200 km Balatoni-Körút cycle route around the lake. This part of Hungary is teeming with spa resorts and health treatment centres. The lake water is very clean and contains many minerals.
