Oos Heem***
he small campsite of Oos Heem is situated in the German-speaking section of Belgium, between the villages Born and Montenau. Cyclists and walkers will find this a delightful holiday area, especially the nature reserve of 'Hoge Venen' (the High Peats) with its great natural beauty that has not yet been discovered by mass tourism.
There's a swimming pool with a separate children's pool surrounded by a green lawn plus a playground for little children - it's all nicely set out. The Dutch owners renovated the campsite in 2011, with modern facilities as a result - among them is a brand new sanitary building. Various kinds of (sporting) activities are organised for both young and old.
You will find campsite Oos Heem within the triangle created by Malmedy, St Vith and Büllingen. Close to the campsite is one of the most famous cycle tracks in Belgium, which is a good idea for a family trip as its maximum gradient is only 3%. The beautiful countryside can be enjoyed even more if you go canoeing, rafting or join a quad ride in the surrounding area. Visit the racing car circuit Francorchamps, or the city of Spa, world famous for its water and also for its casino and majestic 19th century palaces. And don't forget to take the children to Plopsaland.
