Accommodation on campsite Les Criques De Porteils

campsite Les Criques De Porteils, Languedoc-Roussillon

Located near Collioure and near the Spanish border, the small-scale terraced campsite Les Criques de Porteils is a quiet, neatly maintained five-star campsite. This terraced campsite is an oasis of calm yet right on the popular Mediterranean Sea with the Pyrenees in the distance.

Some French and some Spanish
You will stay at Les Criques on the edge of southern France near the Spanish border. From the rural site, you can walk straight to a small bay via stone steps. The coast here is rocky with gravel, but the great sandy beaches of Argelès-sur-Mer and Collioure are not far away. By the way, if you want a swim, you don't necessarily have to leave the campsite: there are two heated swimming pools with slides and a jacuzzi. Not big, but great for a dip. Or enjoy a game of table tennis, paddle, minigolf or petanque. Furthermore, for a moment of relaxation, you can join a yoga class on the beach. It's just a shame that at this beautiful destination, the train is occasionally audible during the day. And the food? There is a nice, hip restaurant on the campsite, but the 'takeaway' is also fine. And close to reception is a small supermarket. Handy if you forget something! WiFi is available throughout the campsite.

A bit of nightlife, a bit of culture, good food and the Spanish border around the corner
Nearby, the lively seaside resort of Argelès offers everything from shopping to swinging during the day and evening. But the town of Collioure is also highly recommended. This colourful town with its medieval harbour has been popular with artists for many years, especially Matisse came there often. Furthermore, look out for the anchovy salads, one of the local specialities! In addition, of course, don't forget to head inland. Eating cherries in Céret, tasting the sweet wine of Banyuls, taking Le Petit Train Jaune into the mountains towards the Canigou: there is a lot to discover in the Pyrenees. Don't forget your hiking boots and for cycling enthusiasts; you can also follow a mountain bike route from the campsite.
