Eurocamping Zedano****
This popular family camp site on the Baltic Sea is located directly behind a dune on a 6.5 km white sandy beach. This part of Germany, Holstein on the Lübecker Bucht, the bay below Denmark and the German peninsular of Fehmarn, is renowned for its healthy sea air and has a record number of hours of sunshine for Germany: 1800 hours a year! No wonder that Ostseebad Dahme is often called Ostseeheilbad; a health resort on the Baltic Sea. The camp site itself lives up to this fine ambiance: it really is a camp site for young and old.
The Zeltplatz Dahme-Nord, or Zedano for short has been run by a family for more than 50 years. Children can swim safely in the sea because the beach is patrolled by the German DLRG Lifeguards. You can camp in all freedom, the camping pitches are very spacious and for the most part not marked out. The special pitches are most unusual, you can request in advance your own private bathroom right on your pitch. You can walk from your tent or caravan right into your bathroom! The area surrounding Ostzeenbad Dahme is a perfect place for an active holiday. There are very many opportunities for watersports or for doing something active on the beach. The sheltered bay of Lübeck is a good place for surfers who are just beginning. There is also a surfing school among the dunes near the camp site. For a short walk you can use the promenade to the beach. For a day out there are countless possibilities: the town of Neustadt 20 km away, the old Hanseatic town of Lübeck, rich in tradition, the Fehmarn peninsula (the port to Scandinavia) or the seals in Sea Life on the Timmendorfer beach. A visit to the Karl May Festspiele in Bad Segeberg is recommended from families with children: take a trip back in time to the Wild West and see Winnetou and Old Shatterhand keep order!
